The tuck everlasting book5/11/2023 ![]() ![]() And unhappy children’s literature? Every time I met an ambiguous ending or one that didn’t ascribe to my strict sense of how-a-story-should-end ( Stuart Little stands out in the mind) I was perturbed. Life was to be tied up in a neat little bow, thank you very much. ![]() Happy endings were far preferable to unhappy. I was a sensitive child, which is to say, a wimp. I did not think that I liked Tuck Everlasting when I was a kid. – Kristi HazelriggĪ beautiful story about mortality. Intense and powerful, exciting and poignant, Tuck Everlasting will last forever–in the reader’s imagination. To live forever–isn’t that everyone’s ideal? Babbitt asks profound questions about the meaning of life and death, and leaves the reader with a greater appreciation for the perfect cycle of nature. ![]() Imagine coming upon a fountain of youth in a forest. #16 Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt (1975) ![]()

The Message Game by Ice White5/11/2023 ![]() ![]() This publisher seemed like my last resort. But then I realized I had one unread email that I starred to look at if I had no other options. Once it was done, the last thing I had to do was look for publishers. It became a monster in comparison to how it started. ![]() And so I wrote it from February to July, a solid 6 months. If I am to write a book, it will be the greatest it can ever be. In February 2019, I was advised to write for 4 weeks and then release it as a book. ![]() Many adventures later, ONE PERSON suggested that I should make a book out of it. What we developed was a philosophy of action, consistency, efficiency and results. For over a year we acquired thousands of members on the Telegram group and gave out so much advice to so many people. I kept it growing and people kept looking. In February 2018 I put together a bunch of screenshots of my messages on Google Docs and showed a few people with some analysis of how to get dates and matches from Tinder. ![]()

Cherie priest boneshaker series5/10/2023 ![]() This time, though, something more threatening than “rotters” has made its way into the district. “Newcomers can pick up The Inexplicables without any substantial difficulty,” said a review in Shelf Awareness. While Boneshaker sequels Dreadnought and Ganymede ventured away from the Pacific Northwest, Priest’s latest book in the series, The Inexplicables, keeps readers within the walled-in part of Seattle that contains blight, a toxic gas that turns people into the living dead. ![]() Last year, the movie rights to Boneshaker were acquired by Hammer Films, which is partnering with the same company that produced “The Ides of March” and “Black Swan.” In 2010, Boneshaker, the first book in her Clockwork Century series, won the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Award, the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel, and was nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Novel. Things are looking pretty great for Cherie Priest. ![]()

The text of the gettysburg address5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here while it can never forget what they did here. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow, this ground– The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have hallowed it, far above our poor power to add or detract. We have come to dedicate a portion of it, as a final resting place for those who died here, that the nation might live. ![]() We are met on a great battle field of that war. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure. Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that “all men are created equal” ![]()

I do have many second graders who are considered “low” so the templates really helps their fine-motor skills plus it keeps them on par with other children. This book is full of gorgeous, collage-style snowmen (and women and girls and boys and pets). ![]() It’s just as easy to have children draw their birds. Brief Summary: If you thought snowmen only had carrot noses, then you’re in for a big surprise. ![]() I created bird templates before for my “Pie in the Sky” art lessonand was excited to use them again.įor those of you who don’t like templates, please don’t feel you must use them for this project.
